FAA Fines Ameriflight Over Safety Violations

The Federal Aviation Administration is proposing a civil penalty of $262,000 against the large Part-135 cargo carrier Ameriflight, for alleged violations of DOT Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing program.

FAA alleges Ameriflight allowed 14-employees to perform safety senseitive duties without receiving verified negative pre-employment drug test results. In addition FAA allegegs Ameriflight failed to properly administer periodic test to 11 randomly seleced employees as required.
