Tue Aug 30, 2011 12:58 am

Hi as of September TG and CX bringing in additional freighter services into SYD.

TG on for Tuesday departure and CX for Thursday and Sunday departure.

inbound i can understand demand but what are they expecting to fly out.
and both carrier stating these freighters are here to stay. and from what i hear EK might bring in
a freighter to SYD too later in the year.

Looking at your job title you should know the answer. How about PER, like fish and meat?

Very few airlines operate freighters into Australia. Flights go in completely full and with excellent yields but leave relatively empty. QF freighter operations from SYD to the USA are done via PVG so the flight comes inbound to the USA full and leaves full.

Well in terms of CX they have a very good presence in Australia already but from what I was told the CX freighter on Day 4 is only going to operate from 01SEP11 until 27OCT11.

That would be great, EK only has PAX services at this point and their flights are always completely full with no cargo capacity at all so a freighter may offer some flexibility.

From my understanding and I base this on what I have read in the past... EK apparently have a contract across the Tasman utilizing the belly of the A380 and B77W aircraft freight forwarding across the Tasman which explains why they can afford to operate during low season the aircraft half full across the pond...

TG on for Tuesday departure

I wonder what this will be seeing TG don't have their own cargo fleet per se.
It's all about the destination AND the journey.

but you dont fill up 7474 freighter just with perishable and fish.

Martinair and Cargolux pulled out not long ago because they could not fill the return flights
and insead of stoping somewhere in asia on the way back they go Asia only and dumped Australia.

plus at the moment OZ economy is on its way down due to high AUD , thats effecting Exports too.

Australia has had a massive amount of growth in freight both inbound and outbound. I know there is a bad bottle neck of export to Australia from the west coast US. Too much cargo and not enough capacity.

inbound i am with you , that always the case but on the outbound there is not much general cargo
unless you doing Perishable. but even that is not filling up these extra freighters. but i am not complaining , love to the these birds here in SYD and having them on hand to get my cargo on it.

Dear Valued Customer;

We wish to advise United Airlines will be operating an additional service on Saturday 3rd September;

This flight will be a cargo only flight and therefore extra capacity is available on this day.

Like I said above it's very thick right now. I just wish FX added an additional flight. Kind of cool to see a passenger carrier do a cargo only run. Big buck$

So the QF freight contract with Atlas Air is still active!?

I seemingly tracked JFK-HNL-SYD on a 744F the other day and some stop in ORD, others in LAX and ANC to PVG if they stop in China (China manufactured goods, etc.).

The USA West Coast->Aus/NZ (SFO-HNL-SYD/AKL, and LAX-HNL-SYD/AKL) freight flights by FedEx and UPS seemingly are full of high tech exports and stuff like that...

BTW does FedEx and UPS link Australia (and to a lesser extent NZ) to East Asia or North America!?

Seemingly it's linked via HNL at the moment instead of SIN or HKG...
