According to "Airlines of Asia Since 1920" (by R.E.G. Davies) Japan Air Lines started service to Seattle via the Great Circle route (later withdrawn) in April 1961. The only SEA service found in JAL's December 1961 timetable is 2x weekly cargo only flights via ANC operated by DC-7F equipment. Had pax service on TYO-SEA-TYO (presumably, like NW, via ANC both ways) already been discontinued by December 1961?
From 1961 and beyond, has JAL ever offered passenger service between Tokyo and Seattle? If so, when and what aircraft type(s) and routing(s) were flown?
