Would REX Work Well In Renmark?

Wed Sep 07, 2011 10:07 am

Hi everyone, just wondering, what are your opinions on this - Rex ADL-RMK. It would help locals quickly commute to Adelaide without having to drive 3 and a half hours.

Is there enough traffic to support the flight? Rex seems to be very cautious these days. I would have thought there might be a better chance with Sharp Airlines:

http://sharpairlines.com/

It has the smaller Metroliner and already serves ADL-PUG (Port Augusta). With enough sweet talk from Renmark officials, maybe Sharp would be interested?

There is definately enough traffic on the route, most of my family live around Renmark and they classify driving to Adelaide as a chore, among many other locals.

Sharp could do the job, although I think REX is a bit cheaper.

Yes, but when you get there you don't have your car if you fly, and you are probably only saving an hour or so. I think many would put up with the drive even if they could fly.

Good point, it would be handy if they had family or friends in Adelaide.
