Edinburgh To Greenland! Really?!

Fri Sep 16, 2011 12:18 am

I often see a flight between EDI and Greenland's Sodre-Stromfjord airport (Kangerlussuaq, SFJ). It tends to arrive later in the evening and leave first thing in the morning. The airline code is ZT which I believe is Titan airways (for example tomorrow morning's flight is ZT9111). I know they do cargo and passenger leases. But why Greenland from EDI on a (fairly) regular basis?

Any info would be appreciated here.

Cheers

Its a twice (possibly 3) weekly charter for a large Oil/Gas company to move staff and cargo around from the Rigs in Greenland back to the UK and V.V

Happens every year whilst the weather allows it.
