I don't think Midway will operate the 738 or 752 in the near future. They have up to 20 737 on order (including options). I think that the 737 is the best suited aircraft for Midway on transcon routes because of its small capacity. If, in the future, the RDU-SJC route gets busier, they will probably increase the frequency instead of the a/c capacity. If it becomes a huge success, then in several years they might upgrade to the 738, or the A320 (which has a great range of operation with an increased capacity compared to the 737) but certainly not the 752 (athough I would like to see a 752 in Midway colors...). The 752 may have really good economics but I doubt Midway could fill in a 752 twice daily...
Anyways, the fact that Midway does not offer entertainment should not be a problem. like other reported, SW and CO do not offer entertainment on their 737s for transcon flights. Besides If you want to go to SJC from Raleigh on another airline, you probably won't have any entertainment either because the flights from RDU to the hub and then from the hub to SJC are then almost too short for viewing a movie (Got that with NW for example). And If I have to choose between a direct flight w/o entertainment and a 2h layover in ORD, DTW, MSP or any other bub completely out of the way, then I choose the direct flight. Most of the pax on the RDU-SJC flight will be business men anyways, and they want to get to their destination fast. If they want entertainment, they can use the DVD drive on their laptop computer!
