TV Shows On QF032, & UA232

Sun Sep 25, 2011 6:35 am

Sorry if these have been posted before- frankly I'd be surprised if they haven't been... but these are really good series.
A bit of hyperbole in all three series but still they are impressive.

Not for those who are afraid of flying, for sure.

Australia's ABC's "Four Corners"
QF032

3 of 4
4 of 4

Or the whole thing in one video:
Here.

And then watching those, I came across a show on UA232. Equally fascinating.

I had seen the one about UA 232 before but had no idea there was one about QF 32. Just watched it now and it was very well done for a news segment-type show. Definitely enjoyed.

Thanks for posting!

4 corners is a current affairs/investigative journalism show... not reporting-of-the-news per se.

Thanks for posting this... I had seen the Four Corners one before, but its such a well produced and interesting episode I watched the whole thing again.

Those passengers, and the school boy on Batam Island were so lucky. Well done to the crew.

My mistake. The bits at the beginning and end made it appear to be a news show. I used to live in Australia but I had never even heard of this show!

Also curious to see how Alan Joyce only found out about the incident when his people saw the stock price plunging. There has to be at least a dozen people at Flight Ops who could have taken a moment to notify the man at the helm of the company before Twitter got a hold of the story.

Do you watch Mayday? (Air Crash Investigation for my Australian friends). It's mostly filmed in Canada. Quite a few episodes have been done at YFD about 45 minutes from my house. It's currently in its 11th season and is still holding strong and consistently putting out great production.
