Has WN 737-800 Started Production Yet?

Tue Sep 27, 2011 12:27 am

With WN expected to take their first -800 in March of 2012, has any part of the plane been made yet? Interior or engines? What is the timeline for making an -800?
My posts/replies are strictly my opinion and not that of any company, organization, or Southwest Airlines.

Long-lead items are already in manufacture, but it will probably be another 4-5 months before anything with Canyon Blue colors makes an appearance.

There may be some stuff at sub contractors but it's generic.. . With lean manufacturing I would not expect to see any major structure assigned to the first a/p until late December.
