Aircraft And Livery Launch

Fri Sep 30, 2011 4:51 pm

All,

Seeing Biman Bangladesh's new livery on their brand new 773ER made me wonder, what is the aircraft that has launched the most new liveries?

Thanks,
Tom

Recently or overall?

If overall, I would probably say the DC-3. There were a bunch of new airlines started up that either bought new aircraft or used C-47's after WW2. For that reason alone I would say that the DC-3 leads in new livery introductions.

Recently, I would have no clue. Just wanted to throw out the DC-3/C-47 idea though.

Maybe the Tu-154? After the breakup of the USSR a new airline seemed to pop up every week!

I'm suspecting the 707 because of the major shift from props to the jet age. That would seem to be the biggest watershed moment.
