Anyone Flown New 767-400?

Thu Oct 05, 2000 3:31 am

I am flying to Tampa from PDX in November on Delta. From Atlanta to Tampa, I will be flying in a new 767-400. Has anyone out there flown in this yet and if so, how does it compare to the 300 series. Anything extra cool about the 400? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I haven't flown it yet, but I am planning to do so in January, also from TPA as it happens (on the way back to ATL for my flight back to Europe). However, from what I hear, it's a superb aircraft and the cabin architecture is very much a la 777 - big overhead bins. Should be a dream. Unfortunately, no PTVs in Y class, but for an 80 minute hop to ATL, it shouldn't be much to do without.

Can't wait!

Thanks for the reply. Ya, I probably won't be hurting without the PTVs. Have a great time on your trip. I'm flying on the MD-11 from PDX to Atlanta. Although I have flown it a few times before, I always get excited to fly in the beautiful jumbo.

I just checked out on the 400 last week. From a pilot perspective a great airplane, but a little underpowered.
I think it flies nicer (lighter roll control)than the 757 and seemed to ride turbulence much better.

Look at the cockpit if you get a chance. I believe the 300 series does not have the total EFIS package. The 400 is like the 777 in many ways with the PFD's & ND's.

I will fly it the 16 October with Delta Airlines. The routing is MIA-ATL. I will definitely post a trip report then.

I just check the Airliners.net pictures for interior shots of the 400 and it looks pretty nice. Although I am not flying in first class, I was surprised to see that it doesn't look as nice as the first class in the 300ER series. Coach looks pretty nice though. Really big.

I probably will be on a DL 767-400 this saturday (10-7-00) MCO-ATL! I can't wait! I'll probably write a trip report when I get back.
