Wonder where they will go.
MIA, JFK, LAX? Stopover in ANC.. Or just anywhere a contract takes them I assume.

Sales offices in MIA/JFK/ORD/IAH so I'd think one of those cities. Curious what they will be lifting back and forth.

How about ATL? We seem to get a ton of Asian cargo flights now. Just a thought maybe they'll come later.

IAH would make a lot of sense, their business is mainly oil / drilling equipment. Possible routing IAH-HHN-GYD

Just read the announcement from their website.

"1 April, 2011

Silk Way Airlines expanded into United States and adding another Euroasian Cargo sales office in Miami. Arthur Ilyayev appointed as a Regional Representative for the country and will draw in business from across its other US offices, which include New York, Houston and Chicago. An Airline focusing on increasing its presence with market preparations for the next year start of the direct all-cargo scheduled 747 freighter services."

You sure? I thought they were for Azerbaijan Airlines, a completely different company?

Oil & gas equipment - we send tons & tons of stuff to places like Almaty & Baku. IAH seems obvious as a first guess, but on second thoughts maybe somewhere more central like ORD to pick up on the Canadian market too.

Ah so no chance on bulking the plane out. But a solid chance of grossing it out. Sounds fun!

The order was indeed placed by Azal. However, on the website of Azerbaijan Airlines, you can find a logo of SW Holding, the parent company of Silk Way Airlines. Don't know what the relations are between Silk Way Holding and Azerbaijan Airlines

Thanks for that, didn't know Azal & Silk Way had a close enough relationship. I suppose it makes sense for Silk Way to operate the 767's as Azal dont fly any freighters anymore.

There are AZALs but will be opb Silk Way. They even have Silk Way rego's - 4K-SW808 and SW880. AZALs are 4K-AZ**.

Silk Way livery will look nice on the 767s too.

Not always correct, all SW's Il-76 and An-12's are 4K-AZ** registered:
