EasyJet To Open A Base In Lisbon

"easyJet today confirmed that it will open its 23rd base in Lisbon
The initial operations will commence with five new services, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Bordeaux and Venice and Asturias, in addition to its 16 existing routes.

LIS - AMS 4 frequencies per week: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday April 18th 2012
LIS - CPH 3 frequencies per week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday April 19th 2012
LIS - VCE 3 frequencies per week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday April 19th 2012
LIS - BOD 4 frequencies per week: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday April 18th 2012
LIS - OVD 4 frequencies per week: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday April 18th 2012

easyJet’s existing routes portfolio at Lisbon: Barcelona, Basel/ Mulhouse/ Freiburg, Berlin, Bristol, Edinburgh, Geneva, Liverpool, London/ Luton and Gatwick, Lyon, Madeira, Madrid, Milan/ Malpensa, Paris/ Charles de Gaulle, Rome/ Fumicino, Toulouse.

A lot of competition on this new routes, only Asturias has no direct competition.

Maybe in the future we will see routes to Cape Verde(lucrative routes for TP) and maybe the Azores!

Would be nice to think EasyJet might add some competition on some more Luso-Spanish routes to compete with TP/IAG, BIO/VLC//AGP.

I doubt Cape Verde and Azores figure in U2's plans.
