Fk100 Over Cygk?

Fri Nov 04, 2011 8:29 pm

Hi all,

Keep hearing a jet going over my house low on approach to CYGK (Kingston, On) and everytime I make it outside I catch it at a distance. It looks like a Fokker 100 but I could easily be wrong.

Anyone any idea's?

Cheers

Isn't there a CRJ operated by the Feds that checks ILS's across the country?

I thought of that but that has a blue streak on the tail IIRC but this didn't! I might be getting old and senile and I could easily be wrong but it looked a 'lil bigger than the CRJ.

Could it be one of the Challengers (VIP configuration) that is operated by the government? Much smaller than a Fokker 100, but I can't think of another jet that would frequently use YGK since Air Georgian and Jazz both use turboprops.
Flying refined.

*Hangs head in shame* I got a very good look at it this morning as I was mulching the leaves (yes, it's that time of year again) and it is indeed CRJ-200ER Challenger 850 C-GNVC roaming the skies.

Thanks for all those who put up with my p!ss poor aircraft ID!!!!!!!

Cheers

I don't believe either of Nav Canada's two CRJs are considered Challenger 850s. Both were delivered as CRJs to Atlantic Coast Airlines and then operated for defunct Independence Air before being acquired by Nav Canada.

A web photo site is hardly an official source. The Transport Canada registration database just shows both aircraft as CL-600-2B19 which covers the CRJ100 (the CRJ200 is only a marketing designation, there's no separate type certificate).
