SNA Terminal C Opens Monday 11/14

Wed Nov 09, 2011 7:29 pm

Looks like SNA, my home-away-from-home airport, is geting ready to open their new digs. SNA's Terminal C is ready to open this Monday, right before the Thanksgiving travel rush.

Report from KABC-TV Los Angeles: http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?se...ews/local/orange_county&id=8424868

As mentioned before, WN (SNA's largest carrier) will be the primary occupant of Terminal C. Other details:
-$500M USD project
-2,000 new parking spaces
-Gates will be numbered 15-22
-Baggage claims will be numbered 5-7
-Love them or hate them, the TSA full-body scanners will be there from day one
-Seating is the same type (Herman Miller Eames Tandem Sling) found in most of Terminals A and B

SNA's existing terminals A and B are getting a little love as well. If you're mad at UA for ditching Starbucks for their proprietary "Journeys" coffee, there are 3 new, larger post-security Starbucks locations at SNA (1 in Terminal A, 1 in B, 1 opening soon in C). La Tapenade Mediterranean Café is also opening up before security in Terminal B.

Is there a map? Where exactly is this new terminal? I was there only once, in 2006.

No map yet on the SNA website. As for Terminal C, it's adjacent to Terminal B and is connected via a walkway to Terminals A/B post-security.

Well, I didnt know there was an A & B. I thought it wsd one terminal with about 7 jetway gates on each side. Facing the terminal, this new one is on the left of the existing one?

Edit: Ahhhhh, OK....thanx LAXintl  bouncy

Yes it is sort of funny how SNA acts like they have 2 (soon to be 3) seperate terminals. Everything, or all gates are accessable from any entry point within the building. I have heard that although "Opening Day" is to be the 14th, Froniter and Southwest will not actually move til the 17th due to permits. I guess we will see when it actually happens.

For those coffee drinker, the 3rd Starbucks is open. It is locataed bewtween gates 16 and 17. They open yesterday when I was through there.

SNA is what a "regional" airport should be -- convenient, clean, and efficient.

I am always impressed when flying through SNA, and I'm sure this will make it even better. I am very close to BUR but can only dream that BUR would have the facilities that SNA does.

Well after 5-years, and $543mil, new Terminal-C wing opened today.

You can check out a 4 minute video;

One slight hick-up.......
The outbound baggage sorting system failed a TSA certification test last Thursday, and as a result was not available for use. Passenger baggage is being processed in Terminal B wing for now.
