Pan Am: London-New York In 88/90

Sun Nov 13, 2011 5:06 am

I flew Pan MA B747 between London and New York and back, both in 1988 and 1990. Is it possible to find out the Clipper names of these aircrafts or did Pan Am change aircraft frequently on this route ?

All PA aircraft were called clippers, if you have the registration of the planes that you flew on then, if you put it into google you will probably find the name.

If not it could be any PA aircraft. AFAIK, there were not any specific aircraft allocated to that route.

Yes its possible if you know the flight numbers day of operation and routing

This site will give you the registration/tail number

http://www.lhr-lgw.co.uk/groupfiles/newlhrarchives.htm

From that this site can help you identify the name

Thank you, but I gave up finding it. I'm not sure how to read it. If I should look at departure time from Heatrow or what ...

I flew 12.03.1988 from Heatrow to New York 11:00

Flew from 01.04.1988 New York to London 19:00

From Heatrow to New York 18.07.1990 11:00 Flt PA101

From Miami to London 30.07.1990 18:15 F lt PA 1098

Flight numbers were pretty consistent in the last years on JFK-LHR-JFK

JFK-LHR 0900 dep PA100
JFK-LHR 1900 dep PA2
JFK-LHR 2100 dep PA102

LHR-JFK 1100 dep PA 101
LHR-JFK 1300 dep PA1
LHR-JFK 1800 dep PA103 then PA 3 then PA11

There was also a 4th departure in the summer some years, PA 104/105
