ACG Announce 737 MAX Commitment & 738 Order

Been a busy day for Boeing with the first leasing company announcing a commitment for the 737Max.

Boeing, ACG Announce 737 MAX Commitment and Next-Generation 737 Order

-- Commitment for 35 737 MAX airplanes

-- ACG first leasing company to announce commitment for 737 MAX

-- Firm order for 20 Next-Generation 737-800s

SEATTLE, Nov. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Aviation Capital Group (ACG) today announced the leasing company's commitment for 35 737 MAX airplanes and its firm order for 20 Next-Generation 737-800s. The Newport Beach, Calif.-based ACG is the first airplane leasing company to announce a commitment to the 737 MAX.

The new 738 orders do not appear to be booked on their O&D sheet and that is now 336 737Max conditional commitments announced. Formal launch not too far away?

Looks like the MAX order keeps on racking up..  ..

Since August, the MAX has almost 700 orders/commitments... Wow!

Randy Tinseth should be buying Gerard Arpey a case of nice Scotch for "forcing" him to offer the MAX to keep AA as a "token" Boeing narrowbody customer.

I suppose he should also send a case John L's way for precipitating the whole thing by getting AA to buy the A320 and A32neo.

Remember back when a firm order for 20 planes was a big deal...? I guess it pays to remember that the mega orders are spread over half a decade or more.

As per the Lionair Max commitment, are these part of the 700 commitments announced by Boeing or new commitments???

JT's are likely new commitments since they issued an RFP after Boeing announced the 700 threshold.

These, however, might be part of that.
