Another Runway Excursion, Now Orenair's 738

Wed Dec 07, 2011 5:30 pm

With this incident, plus the two of Singapore ( 777 and 744F ), we have three serious incidents in a couple of weeks, with large airliners exiting the runways after landings.

We didn't have injuries or fatalities this time either, but I'm starting to worry about the frequency of this things. Is just a matter of time for an ugly outcome...
Are we in the middle of a Go-Around-Phobia Outbreak maybe ??

The SIA incidents were not that serious; it was just unlucky - clip around the ear and 100 lines for the crew (plus some sim training); it happens and thankfully, it happened without serious damage to the acft or injury to pax.

The 737 was en route from Hurghada to Nizhny Novgorod. It overran into soft ground; no major damage reported to the airport, not injuries to pax.

The aircraft is a former TZ machine, N318TZ - LN 1091.
