Yup Christmas Shopping charters, there was a big deal made over one of them being the first passenger New York flight from EMA.
Next flight: Feb 2012 - BHX-CPH-BHX - SK MD87 / CRJ900

It'll be the second set of flights from Leeds/Bradford and Newcastle.

Indeed! One bird from LBA and the other the 0800 from NCL, which sits there until late tonight and whizzes back later.

NCL seemed to be pretty full when I checked the day before yesterday. Probably 4-5 spare seats.

GLA flight was 100% full, not bad for their first year. Cant see them being any more than a few Christmas shopping flights.

I wish they'd do this from MAN and all the time! I wouldn't mind flying Jet2 to EWR across the pond!

I think they've done this a few times now.

Yes I can't remember the first year they started running them.

I think the competition and the high charges ex-MAN don't make it work while, and LBA isn't all that far away!

Unless you got an old photo somewhere I'm afraid you're out of luck. They don't operate those christmas shopping flights anymore. In case you didn't notice, you're replying to a 5 year old threat. Back then they still did those flights and that's when these messages were posted.

What about the ticket price? UA is a full service airline, Jet2 is a LCC. No doubt Jet2 is cheaper. But nowadays they face competition from Norwegian, so they're no longer the only LCC serving this market. I guess that's why they don't do it anymore, Norwegian undercuts them.

This year's trips: https://www.jet2holidays.com/city-break ... s/new-york That they've done these trips for 5 years is testament to their popularity.
