Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:36 pm

Just saw this on the news here in Seattle, hopefully it wasn't too bad and the injured worker makes a full and quick recovery:

Interesting. On my recent trip there, we were all told that Boeing has its own fire department at KPAE.

I wonder why the public FD was called in - presumably it's better to be safe than sorry?

Sorry to hear the report about the badly burned person.

Best thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Quoting Revelation (Reply 1):

Boeing has their own fire department at most of their sites as far as I know.
Why do Aerospace Engineering students have to turn things in on time?

Boeing does have its own fire department. However, depending on how serious the situation is, they will call for help from the regular fire department. In the case of injury, Boeing will have Medic One take the patient if it is severe.

That was in the 40-30 building. The Boeing Fire Dept turned the power back on about 2 pm and there was a small explosion, and some people were trapped in one of the elevators. They finally got it fixed about 3 pm. What appears to be smoke in the msnbc/KING5 helicopter picture is actually fog.
