Need An Update! DL MD-90 & DC-9-50

Mon Dec 19, 2011 7:49 pm

It has been awhile since this subjuect has been updated. How many MD-90s have now been actually placed in service? Also have all of the planned DC-9-50 retirements scheduled for this year taken place? I know there was a list previously but I cannot find it.

I do not know how many MD90s DL has now, but I do know that they change one of there MD88 flights from ATL to ORF from a MD88 to a MD90 earlier this year.

I think it's safe to say DL currently has more DC-9-50s than MD-90s. Maybe just a couple more.

According to aerotransport. org
DL has 32 M90's in service (with a planned fleet of 65) and 24 DC-9-50's still in service, all due for retirement in 2012.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

We have 29 MD-90's in service and 24/25 DC-9-50's in service.

Looks like since Oct 1, when 27 were in service

9852 last flight was in October

9869 has not flown at all this month.

9886 may of had the last flight today, isn't scheduled for any flights the next few days, but not 100% on this, came in from SAV about 2:30 today (EST) and is done.

Looks like 9229 (MD-90) has joined the fleet actively.

Can anyone provide info on the most common DC-9 routes for 2012? This info was posted about 6 months ago, but since then, some frames have been retired and some routes (i.e. MSP-MCI) no longer show DC-9 in the timetable for 2012.

Perhaps DL's site hasn't been updated yet, but the DC-9 is hard, if not impossible to find when searching itineries for Q1 2012.
There's nothing quite like a trijet.

I flown on a - 50 from ATL to PNS and ATL MEM a few times. I think the ATL MEM has a few flights that are -50's. HTH

9869 has not flown at all this month.

This is likely the aircraft that was sent to MZJ on 12/11.
