This would be their second shutdown.
They restarted in mid 2009 after Alis Aerolinee Italiane purchased their AOC
and merged them into Alitalia's cargo division which CAI did not acquire.
Seems to me these guys simply did not have a coherent business plan.
From scheduled service to the Americas and Asia then to adhoc charters, then back to scheduled service, and now most recently ACMI flying for Lufthansa and Africa West.
At one point they were even to acquire A330Fs. Alis signed for 5+3 options a few years back.
