SIA First B747-212B Service

Fri Dec 23, 2011 8:08 am

I am trying to ascertain the flight number and routing of Singapore Airlines' very first commercial service with the B747-212B which should have taken place sometime in October 1973.

Can a historian within a.net's amazing memory and resources place a finger on this ... having an exact date would be wonderful along with the registration - whether 9V-SIA or 9V-SIB was used.

Many thanks in advance.

What I can tell you is that 9V-SIA were delivered to the airline on 31/07/1973. 9V-SIB entered the SQ fleet on 29/08/1973. Unfortunately I don't have any more info at this stage.
