Any News On California Pacific Airlines

Wed Dec 28, 2011 1:33 pm

Last I had heard they were in the process of getting their certificates, but had also said they were planning to start operations in the spring of 2012.

Do they have the E170's in possession yet?

They do have a ticket counter at Carlsbad Airport, but no flights.

Anyone have the latest on this?

They do update here on A.net and have a FB page. Last I heard they were moving right along. They said it was taking a little bit longer then the original plan, but they are working with the FAA and DOT. A large stumbling block I believe was the required manuals was taking longer to write and get approved by the Feds. Since they are starting from scratch vs using manuals already written or buying an already operating airline certificate.

They post on Twitter every now and then too @FlyCPAir. A modified logo showed up on their web site last week.

The new, modified logo looks so much better than the other one. I can't wait to see their E-170s in
person!

My understanding is that they've received their initial FAA Part 121 certification, and the next step is the procurement [lease] of aircraft to begin that portion of certification.

The new logo looks nice ... but under the tab entitled "Airports" it talks about the Carlsbad Airport and lists United Airlines with "connecting worldwide service." Why on Earth would they promote a competitor's service to their home airport?
Please direct your attention to the flight attendants in the cabin...

They probably don't think United Express' daily flights to LAX is a threat, since CPAir doesn't have LAX on their
route map, or they could also be using UAX to promote Carlsbad airport.
