Etihad A330 Problem In FRA?

Tue Jan 03, 2012 12:47 pm

Hey out there,

anyone any information on the Etihad A330 that landed at FRA on January the 2nd, 2012 on 25C and stopped there for a while with fire brigade waiting on him? Later they where able to taxi to their parking stand on own power with the fire brigade escorting him.

Best regards

It could be many reasons...

-hot brakes.
-Hydraulic problems.
-flat tyre.
-steering problems.
-low pressure on tyres.
-and many more....

However if they taxi with own power and no tug.... My guess is hot brakes....

It was a problem with one engine, The aircraft returned to FRA shortly after take off with a shut down engine. Was so reported in today's media.

Don't get me wrong, but I asked if someone had more info about it, not just speculation.

Thank you, so my thought, that engine no. 2 was shut down, was correct? Because it did not produce any jetblast on the wet surface. Unfortunately no report on avherald until now.

BTW, they had their speedbrakes extended until leaving the runway. On the 757 you have to be careful concerning the speedbrakes in a possible evacuation scenario since they would block the overwing exits. On the 767 they are automatically retracted once the overwing slide deploys. How about the A330?

Thank you

You will probably find your answer here

I would assume that in an automated aircraft such as the A330, the speed brakes will automatically be released in the case of a slide deployment.

Well, my fault. The A330 doesn't have overwing exits, does it?
