AA And LAN Ecuador Launch Codeshare Agreement

Today, American Airlines and LAN Ecuador received approval from the U.S. DOT and the Dirección General de Aviación Civil del Ecuador (DGAC) to initiate code-sharing on certain domestic and international flights operated by both carriers.

AA will place its code on international flights operated by LAN Ecuador between Ecuador and the U.S. including:
GYE-JFK
GYE-MIA
UIO-MIA

LAN Ecuador will place its code on flights operated by AA between Ecuador and the U.S. including:
MIA-GYE
MIA-UIO

AA will also place its code on domestic flights operated by LAN Ecuador including:
UIO-CUE
UIO-GYE
UIO/GYE-GPS
UIO/GYE-SCY

The DOT approval came back in November.

I don't even think the DGAC approval was today, but instead the airlines merely chose to announce the code-share venture today.....

LAN Airlines S.A. announced it last month and AA announced it today.
