What Was Carnival Airlines Like To Fly?

Sun Jan 08, 2012 11:08 pm

I never flew them but I used to see Carnival Airlines at FTL all the time. What were they like in terms of service? I remember they had a mixed fleet of B737's, B727's, and A300's.

I had the oportunity to fly a roundtrip on Carnival metal (rhad ecently been bought by PA2) back in 97. Flew an A300 btw PSE and JFK via BQN. Sest pitch was tight and the food was well airplane food. I recall we left PSE late and had a lengthy delay in BQN as well, people started carrying on and loosing their patience while on the ground in BQN. Coming back I recall they ran out of food and a couple of rows didn't have meals. I don't recall their being any IFE. All in all nothing too fancy.

They had a $50 standby upgrade policy, which I was able to use all of the 10 or so times I flew them.
