Is it likely/possible that IAG might buy BE?

I hope not. FlyBE seem to be the ones doing the buying over recent years. FinnCom, Logan and BA Express spring to mind...
Where are you going?

Add AY's 5% to that to get the total Oneworld carrier holdings

Loganair* is a franchise operation, and is not owned. BA Connect* was the only one purchased within the UK.

I hope BA never get their hands on Flybe, they've hardly had a good past with the regional airlines.

But it wouldn't be BA that would own BE. It would be IAG. As IAG grows the types of airlines within the group, and the markets they serve, will differ. Each airline operating as a seperate entity within the group but able to benefit from economies of scale in terms of purchase power of the parent IAG. Personally I'd like to see BE wholey owned by IAG as the regional airline for Europe operating between major cities which aren't hubs and operating some routes which are too thin for mainline ops by the likes of BA/IB. Bring BE into OW and allow customers flying on BE to earn FF miles on IAG programes e.g. BA Exec Club.
