Great video! Fantastic views and scenery.

Thanks for the upload. Helped pass the time, since I woke up in the middle of the night.

Gotta love those departures from and approaches to SDU. A couple of years ago I spent an afternoon atop de Pão de Açucar watching the take-offs, which were in that direction. Amazing.

Quoting flood (Thread starter):
from an Avianca A320:

Correct me if I'm wrong butI'm pretty sure that this has to be TAM since Avianca has no
service to both Santos Dumont(SBRJ) and Congonhas(SBSP), both of these airport are featured in this
otherwise beautilful video.

Edit; seems like I overlooked AVianca Brazil, so this could well be Avianca indeed.

While I'm not familiar with their routes, note both pilots are wearing Avianca lanyards/badges and the partial red nose on their A320s is visible.

Didn't catch your last edit... guess it all comes together then  Smile

GoPro according to the youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/rodrigodavi?feature=watch. I have one fitted to my mountain bike and a friend has one on his rowing boat. Excellent cameras!

I have one as well. Unfortunately, my uses for it aren't quite as cool as in this video.

G´day

Great footage, presumably done in a simulator - or is there an equivalent of Photoshop for movies? Look at how the driver handles the joystick - err... sidestick. If that were for real I guess the plane would be jumping all over the place, in the movie the plane does not seem to react to the drivers inputs at all.

Something fishy there

Someone out there to educate the unknowing?

Cheers

The last landing in this amazing video is in the 35L of CONGONHAS, in Sao Paulo ( CGH/SBSP).
The "serious crash" you remember was a TAM Airbus 320, flight JJ3054. More than just "serious"... is until today the worst accident involving a 320 and the worst accident in Brazilian aviation history.
The runway of that accident is the same of the footage, 35L.

No. The "graphics" are far too good and the distortion around the window edges show it's not real-world footage spliced into a sim. Also, sim motion bases can't produce as much jerk as you see when they're landing.

Quoting Heavierthanair (Reply 9):

Yes. It's called After Effects.

Quoting Heavierthanair (Reply 9):

No. Airbus FBW doesn't work that way.

Quoting Heavierthanair (Reply 9):

Yes, it does. The time constant for commercial jets is just really long. Any time he holds the stick for more than a brief "blip" you see the airplane respond exactly as it should.

I really hope so but, just in case, I figured I'd answer.

Yeah that was the Airport that I was after. Yeah it was the worst accident of A320.
