Anyone have any info on this? Did the media over-hype this?

It appears more or less than the CRJ slid off of a taxiway during low-speed taxi.

Nearly the same thing happened at APN:

"A press release from Pinnacle Airlines stated, "Pinnacle Flight 3867 from Alpena County Regional Airport to Detroit partially slid off the taxiway with the nose gear in the grass as it taxied to the runway for takeoff at 7 a.m. (Monday). No injuries were reported."

Yeah, northern Michigan in places like APN got a coating of freezing rain overnight Sunday into Monday. The ground surface temps were below freezing but the atmosphere was warm enough to cause rain, freezing on contact.

On a side note, no wonder DL wants to get out APN. 8 passengers on a 50 seat RJ on a Monday morning.
