According to the GDS system, Gulf Air will be increasing frequencies to Saudi Arabia effective 1st March 2012 in the following manner:
Riyadh - increased from 14 to 21 times per week with the additional 7 frequencies being operated with A320s. The remaining 14 are with A332s.
Jeddah - increased from 10 to 14 times per week with the additional 4 frequencies being operated with A320s. The remaining 10 are with A332s.
The additional flights to Jeddah are scheduled to be overnight services i.e. departing Bahrain at 0100am and arriving back by 0730 where as for Riyadh it is more spread out across different hub wave banks of the carrier.
As a result of the above, Gulf Air will become the only Arab and Asian airline to offer 21 flights per week from one city into Riyadh where as double daily Jeddah services are also operated by Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways.
