The Reason For Pullmantur 744 At LGW?

Mon Jan 30, 2012 12:50 pm

A Pullmantur 744 EC-KSM arrived saturday evening at Gatwick and was due to have flown to Montego Bay yesterday morning. I know a couple Pullmantur 747's have been here before, but was just wondering what the reason was that it flew to Montego Bay... was they operating a flight for VS?

Arrived Saturday evening (28 Jan) on a Pullmantur positioning flight number (PLM600P)
Departed 0940 Sunday (29 Jan) on a Pullmantur flight number (PLM7001), so presumably a charter (cruise ship?) rather than a sub for a UK airline.
Flown in: A30B,A306,A310,A319,A320,A321,A332,A333,A343,A346,A388,BA11,BU31,B190, B461,(..53 more types..),VC10,WESX

They are charters for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.......MBJ flights tie in with fly-cruises on Braemar and forthcoming Latin American charters will tie in with sister ship Balmoral.

For the Caribbean fly-cruises FOCL transfer pax baggage from airport to the passengers stateroom & v.v. so when you check your bag in in the UK you don't see it until you board the ship....a big plus for FOCLs 60+ clientele.

Totally unrelated, but Pullmantur Air is owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises & a significant proportion of their work is flying passengers to RCI's Spanish subsidiary Pullmantur Cruises.
