Aeromexico Applies For MEX-MCO

Wed Feb 08, 2012 9:43 pm

The scheduling department at Aeromexico is busy again, today applying with the DOT to commence proposed service between Mexico City and Orlando Florida.

Aeromexico while not providing a proposed start up date, or schedule proposes to link the cities using Boeing 737-700 equipment.

How long would this one last before they discontinue it as part of their revolving door of new routes?

SEA-MEX sure came and went quietly.

They do, as does Delta. Maybe the topic starter meant a different city.

Application dated today says:

"By this application, Aeromexico seeks an exemption to engage in scheduled, combination service in the Mexico City-Orlando market. "

Renewal would say "renewal".

While maybe a clerical error on behalf of AM, this was not filed as a renewal, and statements in various places in the document make this to be a new application.

Could it be for a second daily?

My guess is that it will probably last for some time as they have been flying this route for years.

It could be an error in wording but they are currently flying this route 9X weekly...sometimes 10.

It may not say renewal in the application itself, but it says renewal in the document details page on regulations.gov of this document in the details tab:

Application of Aerovias de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. requesting renewal of its exemption to the extent necessary to permit Aeromexico to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between Mexico City, Mexico and Orlando, Florida.

They don't need to apply to add frequencies on routes they operate.

We must be reading different things...

I'm looking at the pdf and no where does it have the word renewal.

" Pursuant to 49 U.S.C. § 40109(c), Aerovias de Mexico, S.A. de C.V.
("Aeromexico") respectfully requests an exemption from the provisions of 49
U.S.C. § 41301 to the extent necessary to permit Aeromexico to engage in
scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between
Mexico City, Mexico and Orlando, Florida. "

Even under document title says:

"APPLICATION OF AEROVIAS DE MEXICO, S.A. DE C.V. FOR AN EXEMPTION"

Not renewal.

It's not in the pdf file, its on the page where you get into the pdf file. the area with the plus sign that says Show Detail. You should see this:

Abstract: Application of Aerovias de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. requesting renewal of its exemption to the extent necessary to permit Aeromexico to engage in scheduled foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail between Mexico City, Mexico and Orlando, Florida.

They fly it 2 times a day a couple days a week, sometimes fly 3 times daily.

Flt 436 is their daily
434 is their additional
442 is their sometimes 3rd flight

Around Christmas and summer they fly up to 5-6 times on Saturdays as well as to other Mexican cities for cruise charters

Aeroméxico flew MCO all year long and even had a record number of passengers in it's history.

Here you can check the numbers:

http://www.flyapm.com/foro/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=165&start=68

134,425 pax within 1390 flights including schedule and charter flights and with an approximate load factor of 97 passengers.

Thanks for the lesson on the US Govt website, however I do not utilize it. I receive the applications directly being on the distribution list.

In this case, AM's representatives clearly misfiled and misstated their intent on their submitted application.
