United And Their 737NG's

Tue Feb 28, 2012 2:51 am

Does anyone know of UAL's longer term plans with the 737NG's the acquired from the merger with Continental? I have been looking around on flight aware and the picture database and it seems like for now they pretty much have them flying the same routes they where on while they belonged to Continental. Do they plan on keeping it this way, or distributing them more around?

They're already distributed around. ORD to FLL, DEN-LAS/SFO/SEA, SFO-GDL/ITO/LAS/BOS, ANC-SFO/DEN/ORD.

With the upcoming summer and fall schedule you will see more PMCO and PMUA planes at other hubs (ie PMCO planes at PMUA hubs, etc).

737's are already flying limited routes out of ORD, DEN and SFO, but all of those will see increases as the IAH will see a large influx of Airbus planes at the same time.

examples include:
ORD-FLL
SFO-LAS

Also remember that UA is going to be taking delivery of new 737's this year, while retiring some PMUA 757's. So you will see a net increase of PMCO aircraft while PMUA aircraft count decreases.
PMCO 737-5's are leaving the fleet as well. 2 more left in the past couple of weeks.

Anyone know when Flight Attendants will be cross trained on opposite fleet types? What is the current timeline for Integration. I assume all Ground Staff combined system wide have been cross-trained if they are running these schedules as such. Are they utilizing a single reservations system yet/

Currently the crews are still operating PMCO and PMUA. My wife is in training and in the final class hired as PMCO. No time frame has been given for same contract. Smisek has even said that it's going a lot slower then they expected.

http://unitednegotiations.com/ Yeah, they are going real slow, but at least most of the groups are in joint negotiations now.
