i was on us air yesterday from pit-dfw and i looked on the saftey card and it read a319-eow...whats eow mean?

just a guess. Some UA 757's have overwater written on the emergency cards...

They're not handing trophies out today

yes, that´s right, UAL cards state "overwater" except when all planes of that type are in overwater config (777 and 744 at UAL).
I always wondered why US carriers don´t put life vests on all their planes. You can ditch in a river or lake or something, I mean, this has happened! In Europe every plane has life vests.
(perhaps I should start a new thread on that?)
