Interview Of Heathrow CEO (in French)

Tue Mar 13, 2012 7:31 pm

Hello French readers,

Sophie Cousineau, a journalist from La Presse, Montreal's biggest French dailly newspaper, interviewed Normand Boivin, a former air traffic controller who became CEO of Heathrow, last summer.

Here's a link to the article. Interesting stuff about the guy's own history. But one may need a good grasp of Quebec French to catch everything... (like the "puck" mention, referring to ice hockey)

Particularly interesting were two of his decisions, mentioned in the article: closing Dorval for a few hours, during a severe winter storm, in 2003, and having airlines voluntarily curtail their pax numbers on November 30th, 2011, on the day where custom officers walked out on strike, to prevent overcrowding of the arrival rooms...
