AOM -- Do They Operate Under AF?

Tue Oct 10, 2000 12:02 pm

Does AOM operate under Air France? I don't know why but for some reason I can't remember. Where do they fly their 340s and are they making money as a whole? Thanks

Yes they are a scheduled carrier. Their main international routes are ORY-LAX-PPT and ORY-Guadeloupe/Martinique. They are 49 percent owned by the SAir group and are Air France's main competitor.

Of course they are a scheduled airline. The best would be to visit their homepage at http://www.aom.com. The site is only available in french apparently, but most destinations are written in French the same way as in English  . This would give enough informations about their route network.

Just a few facts: major shareholder of AOM is SAirGroup, which also holds shares in the french airlines Air Liberté and Air Littoral. These three will be merged to one entity.

International AOM-destinations are:
Cayenne, Colombo, Fort de France, Havanna, Los Angeles, Nassau, Nice, Nouméa, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Pointe à Pitre, Papeete, La Réunion, Saint Martin (the one with the lovely airport nearby the beach ), Sydney, Varadero, Zurich

Domestic destinations of AOM:
Lyon, Marseille, Toulon, Paris ORY, Perpignan

Hope this helps.

Gerardo

hi
they're both scheduled and chartered. It is a competitor to AF but not a serious one....their routes are mainly the french overseas. No european network.French network isn't taken seriously by the public, rather like an alternative to AF.They 're supposed to merge with AIR LIBERTE another same scale competitor owned by SAIR,maybe then they'll be looked at as a serious competitor...at least when they got rid of their 25-30 years old DC-10 (both AOM and AIR LIB)
