Aerosur To Swap 744s

Aerosur has returned its spectacularly painted 744 to VS, awaiting delivery of a former Aerolineas Argentinas 744. I assume its because lease rates will be much cheaper, as the former AR plane is 10 years older.

Lets see if they take delivery.

5L is bleeding, they have a 190M debt and the government is trying to persue long due payments from 2004 to 2011.

I really hope the new 744 makes it to the fleet, if it does, sure there will be a Torísimo III.

What routes does 5L use the 744 on?

AR was paying about $700,000 USD / month for each of its 744s.

Bleeding indeed, SIN (Servicio de Impuestos Nacionales) will keep 100% of the income of 5L. Some personnel are resigning too. On top of this, the government is doing everything to kill it, through everything including BoA.

As AR385 says, MAD.

Interestingly LV-AXF was used for a charter to LAD transporting government representatives and business pax. So to answer the next question...

Although not anywhere near confirmed. Ive heard LV-AXF will be used for charter flights, leaving LV-BBU as a maintenance source for LV-AXF.

Regards.

It has been reported they might be operated by a new Spanish charter airline.
