Alaska 747-400

Do you think Seattle to Portland could handle one of these?

Looks sweet. It would sure beat the Horizon Air Dash 8 that usually makes the trip. Might do a lot for relieving congestion on I-5 too!

Too bad we'll never see it.

Ya, I would much prefer this over the Dash-8. Maybe I'll do a Horizon 747 as well. With Delta leaving us we could use some big planes at PDX.

Oh well. Didn't work. You'll just have to copy and paste the address from the first message. Sorry.

I've been on the SEA-PDX flight before - it isn't bad with a Dash 8. We wanted to see SEA and PDX while on vacation, so we got a $198 deal on CO - CLE-SEA-PDX on CO and Horizon. SEA-CLE back home.

How about putting it on the Portland-Seattle-Ketchikan-Wrangell-Petersburg-Juneau-Yakutat-Cordova-Anchorage route instead? Can you imagine that thing landing at the "Mudhole" Smith airport in Cordova? Awesome!

Hey (with the exception of Cle_tim), what's wrong with the Dash 8?

Cheers!

Another fan of the Dash-8s

Actually, I don't think the AS scheme looks too good on a 744...I think the MD-80 is the perfect aircraft for their colors.

The one reason it would not work from ANC - SEA like it does for Japan....
You could not fill one 744 in Alaska and have enough people to push it back.

I didn't mean for this to become an anti/pro Dash-8 forum. I have nothing against the Dash-8 as an airplane. I just don't like to fly prop. planes in general. As much as I love airplanes, I am a real chicken flyer. Because of that, I prefer the bigger planes. Less turbulance, etc... Hey, I think I will start that as a new topic.
