ACG is spared, possibly because of its imminent takeover by AirBridge.

Hmmmm, first China, then India, now Russia?

Could someone translate what form this retaliation has taken?

LHC is forced to reroute 11 out of 30 flights via ALA, where it had requested 40 weekly slots. Aerologic have been given no overflight rights at all.

not oly because of that. There have been rumours about part ownership since they exist.

What makes me smile about this Russian act of caprice is, that the detour now causes more CO² emission. Take a note of that, dear EU commissioners and see what you get when you don't think commercially. .

I can't believe the U.S Government is taking a "wait and see" approach on this..

Kudos to China for setting an example, and to Russia ofcourse

Here's an article in English: http://www.atwonline.com/internation...s-lufthansa-cargo-s-traffic-right. 76er's summary is about the same.

A very rough translation of the Dutch article:

Quote:
The Russian authorities have partially closed [Russian] airspace to cargo flights between Germany and the Far East. LHC and Aerologic have been affected by this, but not Air Cargo Germany.

The article then goes on to mention that LCAG has just begun with the summer schedule and had to reroute 11 flights over Kazachstan. The company has 30 weekly flights that use Russian airspace, but asked for 40 prior to the start of the summer schedule.

Aerologic has not received a single over-flight right.

Both companies are making tech stops in Alma Ata instead of Krasnoyarsk -- this detour adds 50 minutes to the flight time and costs the companies €10 million per year.

The article finishes off with

Quote:
The action is seen as one type of retribution for the European ETS system.
