I just noticed another thread that stated that a UA 763 just got winglets in HKG. Does anyone know if all the UA 763 birds are getting it or just the international config. ones? Thanks!

Oh ok. Thank you! That's a great improvement from the originals. Can't wait for an opportunity to fly on one

Pardon my late arrival to this thread, but why the hell would UA fly 737NG unfinished on EWR-SFO?! No IFE, no a/c power, no nothing. Why can't the new United get it right and be consistent for once? It's bloody frustrating for those of us whose companies shell out hundreds of thousands for F tickets and I feel like I'm flying a different airline every time I board UA. I'm on pace to fly over 500,000+ this year almost exclusively with UA.

Actually just 1,366 since its a leap year. I wonder why he'd like to fly so much after that DC10 movie crash.

It's not not by choice.. or not originally at least.. The seats for which the DTV system was designed were no longer available... If this is still true, I don't know.. and now add to it the new Boeing 'Sky' interior which is also an issue for the DTV system. How and when it will all be sorted I wish I knew...

Why did UA/CO decide to refit the 767's last? It seems that those very nice and fairly new 767-4 would have been done toot sweet?

Flew on a 738 today with the sky interior and non-Koito seats with DirecTV. Maybe they'll change seats, add DirecTV and E+ at the next scheduled maintenance?

Probably because more work was needed than on the 752 and 772 fleets. They were able to get the 752 and 772 fleets done more quickly than the more labor intensive 764 retrofit, which are taking about 7 weeks each. 63 752s and 772s were completed before the relatively small 12 international 764s were started.

Now that the 764s are being done, they come out with more BF seats and E+. 5 complete, 2 in HKG and 5 left to retrofit. It seems like Anet isn't sure about the remaining 4 Hawaiian configured 764, but my guess is they will stay in their current config as PMUA 763ERs are being reconfigured for international 2 class service.

The reconfigured 763ERs may still show up on a reduced number of Hawaiian and hub-to-hub services. If the 763ERs stay on some Hawaiian flights, maybe the remaining 764s will be reconfigured for international.

PMCO 753
#0865* ferried IAH-AMA 1/29
#0855* ferried IAH-AMA 1/30 (0865 must have cross ferried with 1 day in AMA.

Both these aircraft have UA titles. UIs it fair to assume AMNA is not doing 753 E+?

* Only 753s that could make up the ferry per Flight Aware

I know that you meant 3/29 and 3/30.   Anyway, I was wondering the same thing. But all resources show that 3865 did not receive an E+ modification. Since it was AMA it must have been paint related. Painting new ship numbers? If so, it seems like a big waste of time and money to me.

I have been reading this thread for quite a while now, and I finally decided to create an account here. I have been keeping track of the progress for FlyerTalk with a website I created. It lists out every aircraft in the UA fleet, and it gives details on exactly what type of interior is on every single aircraft. Please check it out, and let me know what you think!

https://sites.google.com/site/theunitedairlinesfleet/home (sorry you will have to copy and paste the url)

It would seem like a waste of time and money if it was for ship numbers, but cold it be a charter for something?

Thanks! I am glad you like the website! I found it easier to see which aircraft have which interior, and the cool thing is you can sort the different columns.

That is a great idea,, but I normally fly 737s or ERJ just as those are the aircraft that are on the routes I fly. However, If somebody who has pictures that would like to share them, you can email them to interiortracking@yahoo.com . I will most defiantly put your name by the pictures you send!

Also: Has anybody heard which aircraft are receiving the new airbus interior? Or any details on that?

Are the airbus aircraft going to be updated? By that I mean, DTV or WiFi . I just flew on a 737-800 and didn't have DTV. I was kind of surprised by that.

No. The 738 you flew on was probably one of our latest. Did it have the BSI ?

Yup, as mentioned in my reply. The 738 had BSI (sky interior) with DirecTV.

# 449 was not delivered with E+, nor is she scheduled to receive E+ in MCO. These Acft and their contracts were done long ago. Need STCs for E+ and LiveTV installations on the Acft with BSI.

Thanks for letting us know. I have corrected it on the website. Also, you can now track your flight and see the most current flight delays on the United Airlines Interior Modification Tracking website I created!

Also, is UA able to get the seats it needs for the BSI planes to have DTV on them?

Any info on the airbus updates?

Ship 0530 does show to have DTV and has the BSI. I presume it's a test case at the moment hence the reason why none of the others have had the system installed?

Flew on a 738 today with the sky interior and non-Koito seats with DirecTV. Maybe they'll change seats, add DirecTV and E+ at the next scheduled maintenance?

Read your quote again. It had DirectTV, but then it is asked if they'll install it at the next scheduled MX. Just looking for clarification.

As iahcsr replies, maybe it was # 530.

That would be for the 737-800s, Will try to see what the status is. A STC will need to be done for the -900ERs.

As I posted elsewhere, I believe the pending cancellation of some SAAB segments out of IAH and the replacement with E135's counts as a "fleet improvement"!

Looks like early June.

Why did UA/CO decide to refit the 767's last? It seems that those very nice and fairly new 767-4 would have been done toot sweet?

They are getting a total overhaul, and honestly i think other stuff needed doing more urgently.

As we're now just 5 aircraft away from completion on mainline repaints, does anybody have any insight into the repainting efforts/time-frames at some of the regionals? I've been cross-referencing my own list of those aircraft and several show a week (or longer in some case) of current or previous inactivity on Flightaware...I know, not exactly gospel truth.

I'm sure there are several where it's a case the aircraft has been repainted but no pictures have been taken, making it tough-to-impossible for those of us on the outside to know.

It is going to take more than 5 to replace all of those SAAB's or there is going to be some serious frequency draw down in several markets.

According to an article I read in the Toronto newspaper, Export Canada/Crown Corp is the debtor for the Colgan Q400 fleet and Crown says United has a deal to place the Q fleet with another operator. A good guess would be Republic since they abruptly delayed the retirement of the remaining Frontier Q400's from the end of this month to the fall.

Could this change with at least 5 of the 12 ETOPS 753s flying Hawaii this summer? Can the DTV service be used to show movies and shorts over the Pacific?
