Misleading headline.

It had an engine fire which was put out by the engine's fire suppression system. I bet this bird is flying again next week.

Next week?

I departed BUR for SFO at 3pm on UA 6310, and I saw no sign of any USAirways plane.

BUR does cover a lot of real estate. But there was no chatter whatsoever or media presence -- not at rental cars, not in the ticket lobby, not in TSA, and not at the concessions.

It was like just another boring day at BUR.

I think they call it a write off, followed by NTSB investigation and scrapping.

An Airbus with only 72 pax? Unless F was packed and Y was empty I can't imagine US made anything off that flight.

Considering it is a 7 am flight on a sunday morning, i'd say that its a decent load factor, especially if the plane is an A319 (124 seats)

Even if it's an A320 (150 seats), it's still a decent load factor for a sunday morning flight.

It's an A319, and you are correct. Loads on Sunday morning are usually very light...and I'd bet there were more than a couple nonrevs on board too.
