A $30 million project is under way at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to create more spots for jets to park overnight near the terminal, which will speed up on-time morning departures.
The project, on land east of the eastern end of the Barbara Jordan Passenger Terminal, will add 13 spots to the 26 now available for jets to park after they make their final stop for the day.
The project will be complete in 2012. Federal money is covering about a third of the cost.
