New or already known?

More like expected, they have also taken 3 new frames direct from Boeing for a total of 7.

AIPEI, Taiwan, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Taipei-based EVA Air today finalized an order for three 777-300ERs (Extended Range) airplanes. The order also includes purchase rights for an additional four airplanes.

No mention in the Boeing release as to whether these are previously booked as UFO

From the Article: "According to the General Electric Company, delivery of the aircraft from GECAS’ existing order book with Boeing is scheduled for 2014."

The latest GECAS orders are 8 each placed in March and July of 2011, so likely it's pulled from one of them.

Yes I saw that thank you, was thinking more of the direct order from Boeing, they state the deal was finalised today however there are quite a few UFO's from the past year that could cover them. Normally, if it is a UFO Boeing mention this in their release, they didn't, we'll know more Thursday. Also good to see 4 more Purchase Rights.

No doubt these are a part of the 84 777 sales mentioned recently by Mr Albaugh that Boeing had for 2012 though that number has since risen.

Is this the 3 UFO orders for 777's on the Boeing's O&D spreadsheet?

Quoting Mayohoo (Thread starter):

They DID announce an order for 3 77W's like 6 weeks ago. SO this must be the firming.

Congrats PR! Surely this must be the replacements of their last 7 744's they have. This also includes options for 4 more. However, PR mentioned this order as a growth network, and not replacement. So who knows.

No, it was a new order and added to the O&D spreadsheet today, AC was the UFO for 3.
