Damage To VA A330 Wing Pre-launch

Sat May 12, 2012 11:02 am

I just love the typo in this story: Virgin A380 clipped stationary Jetstar plane.
http://www.news.com.au/travel/news/v...aunch/story-e6frfq80-1226352991387

But can someone please clarify: will the new A330s fly only domestic routes and; are there any pics of the new 'wet' livery and why it is claimed to be lightweight?

Thanks!

At the moment, the A330s are only scheduled to be operated domestically.

How many cabin crew are endorsed on the A330? I believe originally only a small-ish number of SYD/MEL crew were trained on the type - will all the crew be A330 endorsed?

The wet look is probably a poorly phrased way of referring to the new livery -- clearly this journo has no idea, so I wouldn't read into it.

I like the sentence "Nobody was on board either aircraft..." -- clearly someone left the handbrake off if there are planes rolling round MEL without any guidance!!

They've corrected the article but used to say:

URGENT repairs are being made to Virgin Australia's brand new A380 after its wing clipped a stationary Jetstar aircraft at Melbourne Airport on Thursday.

Thanks. I didn't know they had, but yes, it was the A380 typo that got my attention at first:

Perhaps this shows how the A380 has affected us subliminally.

Thanks for the great pics EK413!

Your Welcome...

Even though I like the new scheme when compared with the "old" I would liked to see the colors on the tail reversed with titles in white with red back drop...

The 'wet look' referred to is nothing to do with Virgin Australia's livery, it is to do with a new painting process at Airbus:
