CO Announces EWR-ANC

Fri Oct 13, 2000 7:13 am

CO has just announced seasonal EWR-ANC nonstops. for next summer. This along with EWR-Stansted, EWR - HKG, and EWR - BQN shows just how committed to they are in this market.

Despite some flimsy arguments to the contrary, CO proves once again they are on the cutting edge of air travel out of NYC.

What aircraft will they be operating on the route? 757? 762? Does the 757 have the range to make a nonstop EWR-ANC?

While it seems more likely that a 757 would be used, a 767 or a DC-10 might be a better choice given the large cargo market that exists on a ANC-Lower 48 flight.

By the way, CO's 757 CLE-LGW route is 400 miles longer than an ANC-EWR nonstop.

How long is this flight? About 7-7 1/2 hours? I dont know, CO's 752's are kinda cramped, i flew on AA JFK-YVR this summer, it was about 6.5 hours and that got kinda annoying even though AA's new room in coach thing is great.
