Air Access Maps

Tue May 29, 2012 11:00 pm

Hello all,

Somehow this wound up in my inbox (If anyone is part of this on here let me know!), and I felt like sharing. Basically, folks at Ohio State have compiled air travel data for every commercial airport over 2011, and mapped out destinations, amount of travel, type of travel (N/S, one stop, multiple stop), etc. Very interesting to say the lease to see where people travel from other airports around the country.

As a aviation nut and a guy who makes these types of maps, I spent all day just looking through these.

Enjoy!

Aside from the fact this comes out of Ohio State; very cool.

That's really cool! I had no idea that these types of maps existed! New procrastination tool: acquired!

Quoting tz757300 (Thread starter):
have compiled air travel data for every commercial airport over 2011

While this is indeed interesting, it goes almost without saying that "every commercial airport" refers to USA airports alone and to US domestic destinations only.
