American Airlines MD-11's

Fri Oct 13, 2000 10:32 pm

How many MD-11's is American Airlines still operating? Are they being phased out, 1:1 for each 777 that enters the fleet? Where are the MD-11's operating?

Last I heard, it was one flight on the ORD-LHR route and the rest were flying
to Latin America (SCL, EZE) from MIA.

Thank you,

One of them is still operated on one of the 2daily LGW-DFW flights, and since I have seen around three there at one time, I would assume that they go to South America.
I believe they have 7 now in service.

I want to know when they will get rid of those God awful A300s. Any hints?

Fed Ex was supposed to be buying them as the 777's came in and the 11's phased out. I'm not sure how many remain in the fleet however.
