What Ever Happened To Baltia?

Tue Jun 19, 2012 3:51 am

I remember earlier this year reading about a new startup airline that was going to run between JFK and the Baltic region. I also remember seeing a picture and video of the fully-painted ex. NWA 747-200 leaving VCV and (I believe) at JFK. Plus, I remember visiting their website and thinking that it looked pretty good. What ever happened with the whole thing?

Their website is still up and running: http://www.baltia.com/
And apparently they are still interviewing crews: http://www.timesunion.com/business/p...ne-BALTIA-Interviewing-3573131.php

Here you'll find some more info: http://investorshub.advfn.com/Baltia-Airlines-BLTA-918/

So in the end, I'm not sure they ever will fly. Apparently they sold their first B742 (N705BL) for 144.000 USD while it had cost 1.744.000 USD. N706BL is still owned by them.

Quoting spiritair97 (Thread starter):
new startup airline

Correction, it is an old startup airline. They have been trying to start flights since the wall fell in '89. Or atleast since the med 90'ies.

They disappear for a few years then suddenly pop up again when you least expect it.

Last it was seen in Maylasia but in the mean time N705BL is deregistered (cancelled) and it's also not appearing on the Maylasian register. So no clue where it is or wetter it's registered.

I also do not believe in them starting up anymore. We show N705BL as scrapped at SZB in our database. N706BL is currently sitting around in OSC waiting for something to happen.

FAA shows it as cancelled on 05/07/2012, i.e. May 2012.

Do you know if that is when it was scrapped. Also why take it to SZB in the first place.

Honestly, I feel like this whole thing was a stock pump and dump. They received money from investors in the millions and they needed to show that Baltia was doing something with it.

They purchased a old 742 just to prove that they actually did it, And now that's it. They proved to the investors that it was a risk and that they did not have enough money to start flying.

If they really wanted to start an airline flying from JFK-LED then they could and would of leased an old 767 to start immediate operations.
