How Many UA Star Narrowbodies?

Tue Jun 19, 2012 8:22 pm

Around 6pm on Monday there were 2 STAR UA planes at TPA.....one was the 757, the other was a 737. So I looked on flightaware to look up this one, N26210

but that plane was enroute between IAH & LGA

and the 73G does intra Pacific routes. So what aircraft did I see? Is there another STAR narrowbody? I'm positive it was not an Airbus, but a 737. It operated TPA-ORD as Flt 1572 on Monday.

I am confused!!

According to UA's flight status (which is excellent) ship #3210 operated the route, which I am guessing is N26210. I wouldn't always trust Flightaware, or you were looking at another flight.

To add a little context:

"All Star Alliance member carriers apply the Star Alliance liveried aircraft design to a number of aircraft corresponding to 3% of the member carrier’s international jet engine aircraft fleet."

https://compliance.staralliance.com/pdfs/H03_Star%20Alliance%20Livery%20on%20Aircraft.pdf

As of Feb '09 there were 77 aircraft in the world painted in the scheme, however, you can bet that is higher now as UA only had 2 at that time. Clearly there are more now.

Really bizarre, they've never completely wrong in my experience. Weird.

Thanx for the quick answer.

Ship 3210 or N26210 is a 738. Ships 3200-3299 and 3500-3530 ? Being sCO 800's.

I believe we have at least one narrowbody painted in the scheme. sCO 737-700, 738,739,752 and 753. I'm almost sure. I've seen just about all of them come through IAH. Of course all the widebodies.

There is no 737-900 or 757-300 painted in the scheme.

I thought PMUA had a 752 in Star colors, too. Did they ever?

Not that I know of...the only special liveried PMUA narrowbody that I know of is the UA Heritage A320

I find they are quite often so far off base they might as well be tracking Santa.
