Why Not More US Airlines To Curacao?

Tue Jun 26, 2012 10:25 pm

Im trying to book a trip to Curacao in December from the north east and to my dismay AA is the only airline to fly into CUR from MIA. I do see Insel Air once a week from CLT and a few other from MIA but nobody codeshares. Why are all the US airlines only seasonal in the summer. Just curious. Thanks.

You can connect with all of US destinations in CLT, they code-share. I agree though anything but AA lol.

There is simply not enough of a market between the USA and CUR to justify more than one flight. When we think of vacations to that region, we think of The Bahamas, Bermuda, Jamaica, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Aruba, St. Maarten, etc. Curacao is just not a place that Americans think of when planning a vacation. If the government of Curacao were to advertise in the USA, then maybe Americans would consider Curacao for a vacation and there would be more demand for flights there.

most of the seasonal flights from the US to the caribbean are in the winter, not the summer. You should be able to connect via Aruba without any problems. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to clear customs and re-check your bags.

Then why is UA service from EWR not in December, flight 1425 is scheduled this Saturday the 30th. I dont get that. I do however understand that Curacao does not advertise in the us. I was looking for a different type of caribbean get away thats the only reason I found it.
